The Saharan Palette by Juvia's Place // First Impressions

Hey everyone, happy Friday! Today's the day, Black Friday, although I feel like this whole week my inbox has been bombarded with news of 'week long' sales, so maybe it should be Black Friday week instead of weekend...

Anyway, of course I couldn't help myself when I saw that there was 30% off everything on Beauty Bay, in fact, when I got that email I did a little happy squeal. I know, I said I wasn't going to buy any more makeup but.. I couldn't help myself okay! I picked up this gorgeous Juvia's Place palette and some new foundation, I've never tried anything by this brand before so I thought i'd do a little first impressions for you.
I bought this palette for £24.00 in the Beauty Bay sale, however it's usually £30.00, that includes 12 gorgeous shades. I'll leave a link to it here if you fancy checking it out! This is definitely a warmer palette and the main reason I picked it up is because I loooove the range of shimmer shades within it.

I think that this palette has such a lovely selection of shimmer shades, and a few nice mattes to mix in with them. I do however, think that you'd possibly have to mix this palette with another one to create more looks, but something i've been doing recently when I want a 'basic' look is to just use one shimmer shade on my lid, so this palette is perfect for that.

I did swatch this palette (photos show the top row followed by the middle row and then the bottom row), however I won't lie, I was a bit concerned at how chalky they seemed to be. I'm hoping that they perform better on your lid when you've primed your skin, but straight away I wasn't blown away.

Sokoto: Red toned orange matte
Wodaabe: Green toned gold shimmer
Bororo: Berry red shimmer
Kia: Deep green shimmer

Zoya: Peachy gold shimmer
Iman: White shimmer
Jamila: Orange matte
Senegal: Copper shimmer

Chad: Black matte
Katsina: Caramel matte
Lulu: Lighter copper shimmer
Fula: Pink shimmer

So overall i'm a bit on the fence about this palette after my first impressions. I think that the palette itself is absolutely gorgeous, I love the design and artwork and just looking at the shades within it makes me so happy. However, they definitely were hard work to swatch so i'm a bit worried about how they will apply to my lid.

I will definitely keep you all updated as to how I get along with this palette, I want to love it so badly but I am worried about how well it will perform.

Have you ever tried anything by Juvia's Place? I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
