First Impressions // ASOS Makeup

Hiya everyone, I hope you're all having an amazing day so far. I'm super excited as this weekend i'm going to Leeds to see my boyfriend, it feels like it's been forever but I've just been so busy getting back into the swing of uni.

I got so over excited when I saw that ASOS were doing their own brand of makeup now, I just couldn't resist getting a few pieces to try out. In terms of the price of their makeup, I'd say it was on a par with maybe Rimmel, or some of the 'higher' end drugstore prices.

ASOS Chubby Highlighter Stick // Shade Flawed

So, right off the bat when I opened this I was so shocked at how dark it is, I'll leave a link below to where you can find this on the website but online it looked like a really light, pearly pink where as in real life it's definitely more of a bronze, gold. It's still really beautiful but definitely not what I was expecting. It's quite glittery and has a gorgeous sheen to it, although i'm a bit sceptical of how well it will perform on top of foundation, we'll have to wait and see!

ASOS Bronzer // Shade Bulletproof

Again, I won't lie I was pretty disappointed when I opened this and saw how dark it was compared to online, i'm a bit dubious about whether this will actually be too dark for me in certain lights. On swatches I wouldn't say it was incredibly pigmented, which actually works out quite well as that means you can build it up and i'll only need to use a little if it is too dark. I'm quite anxious to see how this turns out as it's not really a bronzer colour i'd normally go for, however, i'll have to wait and see. I do love that it's a nice little compact with the mirror though.

ASOS Matte Lipsticks // Shade Uncompromising & Steely

I fell in love with these lipsticks as soon as I saw them, they're true to colour and when I swatched them they seemed so pigmented and creamy. It's too soon to say about the longevity of these as I haven't tested them out properly, but I can tell that these are going to be lovely additions to my makeup collection. Uncompromising is a beautiful berry pink shade and Steely is a gorgeous peachy pink nude. I think these would both be perfect to wear all year round and I'm so excited to try them out properly. They also smell absolutely amazing which is a bonus!

So overall I think the best products so far out of this little collection are the lipsticks, as they arrived true to the colour shown on the website and were the best to swatch. A positive thing about all of these is that they are suitable for Vegans, also, the packaging is absolutely gorgeous. I love the quirky, cute designs on them on the pale pink background.

I am so interested to see how I get on with using these products, at a first glance i'm so unsure but i'll keep you updated as to how well they perform!

Let me know if you've tried any of the ASOS makeup, what do you think of these products?! I hope you have an amazing weekend!
