Summer Skin Tips

Hi everyone! I hope you're all having an amazing day, i've been craving chocolate so badly I think i'm going to have to give in and go and get some.

Today I thought that i'd give you some tips on how to keep your skin looking fresh, dewy and healthy throughout Summer. As the seasons and weather change I find that my skin care and make up regime changes too and I need to do different things to keep my skin happy and healthy.

Using sun protection, such as sun cream, is so important during these hotter months and it's something which people often forget about. The skin on your face is really sensitive, especially around your eyes so using suncream on your face protects those vulnerable areas from sun damage. If you can, try to get a foundation with SPF already in it.

I feel like I talk about Primer quite a lot however using a primer in the warmer months will help keep your foundation and base products in place for longer. You won't have your makeup slipping down your face and you wont have to keep topping up your concealer/foundation as often.

During the sunnier seasons the sun and heat will drain all the moisture from your face, so it's important that you keep hydrated, not only through drinking water but also keep your face moisturised and nourished so that it doesn't dry out. Keeping it hydrated will help maintain that healthy, dewy look and keep your makeup looking flawless!

This kind of ties in with the moisturising and sun protection, but if you've spent a long day outside or a long time in the sun, before bed put on some aftersun cream and let it soak in. As I said before, sun protection is really important to keep your skin healthy and to avoid sun damage.

Another important one, but as the hotter weather dries out your skin it's important to keep on top of exfoliating and getting rid of all that dead skin. Not only will this keep your skin healthy, it will also make your makeup easier to apply and looking on top form.

Let me know if you have any tips of keeping your skin in good condition during the Summer months!

  1. I think SPF is a must too, sun damage can build up over time too and sometimes it's not easy to realise at first. Agree with the importance of exfoliating too xx
