Topshop Makeup // First Impressions

Hello everyone, I hope you all had an incredible weekend. I've literally only been back at uni for a week and already the third year workload is starting to pile up. I've definitely come back from Summer with a motivated frame of mind though so that helps a lot.

I went on a little trip today to Topshop as my ASOS makeup order hasn't come and i'm so glad I did as I picked up some little goodies I wanted to share with you. First of all, I have been wanting to try Topshop makeup out for a long time, I have owned bits and pieces from previous collections but i've never really been impressed. However, recently I was looking on their website and there were definitely lots of things which caught my eye. I would definitely recommend physically going into one of their stores to buy their makeup as the shades definitely looked different online!

Highlighter in Horizon

At first when I saw this I thought that it would be far too dark for my pale skin, but honestly when I swatched it I was amazed at how pretty this shade really is. It's not overly glittery, but it definitely has subtle flecks of glitter in it and the shade is a light bronze. I wanted this as the only shades of highlighter I own are whites and pinks, so I wanted something which would be warmer for Autumn/Winter. This is a first impressions post so naturally I can't tell you how it applies or it's longevity, but for a start I think this is so beautiful and swatches amazingly.

Smoke Stick in Glory

When I saw this online I didn't think anything at all to this shade, however in real life it is the most beautiful pearly pink i've ever seen. I've wanted something like this for a while, not just for inner corners or my brow bone, but also to blend all over my lid for days when I want minimal makeup but still something, if that makes sense. On application, when I swatched this, it was so pigmented and creamy so I can't wait to try this out properly and see what it's really like.

 Brow Gel in Edge

I've heard so many amazing things about brow gel although i've never actually used one myself. I picked this up just to experiment, as I do have overly bushy brows hopefully this helps to tame them! I love that it's got a tint to it, as I think it will help it blend in more, but i'm intrigued to use this and to see what it's really like, and whether it makes a difference to how my brows stay in place.

 Matte Lipstick in Undercover

I am totally in love with the shade of this. Not that long ago I had a huge clear out of any old lip products, so my collection is really lacking some Autumn/Winter shades, however, this is the perfect new addition. It's a deep red/berry shade and when I swatched it, it definitely seemed very pigmented and it hasn't washed off easily which is a good sign. I don't actually have many classic lipsticks in my collection as I do gravitate towards liquid lipsticks now, but I thought this is something different to try out and see if I like it. I'm not a huge fan of the stripey packaging but that can be forgiven if the product is good. I'm excited to try this one out properly!

£8.00 Topshop (Not linked as I couldn't find it on their UK site!)

I definitely think these are going to be some nice additions to my makeup collection, I just hope that they perform well as so far with all the swatches i've been so impressed. Topshop is definitely affordable however once you start adding things to your cart, it can definitely become pricey. I do love the simple, plain packaging and they're very clearly labelled so I don't think it will rub away like the Colourpop labels do.

Let me know if you've ever tried any makeup from Topshop & what you think of it! I hope you all have an amazing rest of the week.

  1. These highlighters look so pretty. I've never tried Top Shop products because they're not available here.
