COLOURPOP // Mini Haul & First Impressions

Hiya everyone, I hope you've all had an ace week, I'm so excited it's finally the weekend, yaaaay! Have you guys got much planned, or just having a chilled out one?

So, I know it's been a couple of months since my Colourpop order came and I've only just got round to reviewing it properly, this was because mainly I wanted the chance to test all the colours and their durability and also to test their packaging etc.

SHIPPING

So, I placed my order when Colourpop had a free international shipping deal for orders over $30. Now, as I live in the UK I was expecting to pay a customs fee, so just keep this in mind if you order from there that depending on how big your order is, you will have a customs charge. Places like Tarte have started adding them to your overall when you pay however Colourpop haven't done this yet. So ordering when there's a free shipping deal is the best time to order in my opinion as then you don't get shipping fees and a customs fee. (For this whole order my customs fee was just over £15!)

My order didn't actually take too long to arrive, I placed my order on the 24th of April and they were with me on the 5th of May. Speedy international delivery!

SHIPPING PACKAGING

So, the packaging for Colourpop is super cute and very durable. Considering this package was shipped internationally I was pleased that everything inside was safely wrapped up and the box was incredibly durable. I get a bit anxious when ordering from another country that they won't package things properly and that everything is going to arrive all messed up but nope, Colourpop packaging is amazing.

THE PRODUCTS THEMSELVES

The first thing I picked up was the 'Up and Away' lip bundle which cost $15. I thought this was a more than reasonable price for 3 lip products and the colours are definitely my favourite shades of colours. The products included Love Bug (ultra matte), Mama (ultra matte) and Calypso (ultra satin).

(Mama top, Love Bug middle & Calypso bottom)

(Mars top, Donut middle & Creeper bottom)

I then decided to pick up 3 more individual colours which, were kind of 'out there' for me and something I wouldn't usually go for but I'm trying to grow my colour collection so I thought I'd just go for it.

I picked up Mars, Donut and Creeper which are all in the ultra matte formula and they all cost $6 each.

FORMULAS

Overall for the price I was extremely impressed with the Colourpop formulas. The ultra matte lipsticks really are what they say they are, they last all day long and when you eat and drink they STILL last! I personally love lipsticks where I don't have to constantly top them up all day and these are perfect. After a while they crack a tiny bit and depending on the colour you do need to top it up after a while but only once or twice throughout the day. One thing I will say though is that if you hate really dry, matte lip kits then these probably aren't for you as their longevity does mean they do dry your lips out a bit. The ultra satin one is probably my favourite though as it's still really matte, however not quite as drying as the ultra matte ones. The lip kits are also incredibly pigmented and for the price it's so impressive.

THE CONS

Honestly, there's not much at all that I dislike about what I bought from Colourpop. The only problems I have are that the writing on the packaging does tend to rub away once you've used it a few times which is a bit annoying as then you can't see where they're from or anything. The only other con is that you have to take into account that there will be a customs charge, but if you order whilst there's a free shipping offer it does make it a bit better.

Overall, I'm so happy that I decided to take the plunge and order from Colourpop as I've definitely got the use out of them and they're just really lovely, affordable lip products to have in your collection. Also with free shipping the price for all these was amazing!

Have you ever bought anything from Colourpop before, or would you ever buy anything from there? I'd love to hear your opinions on this brand!
